When the Austrian Thomas Muster, a Roland Garros champion, and the Croatian Goran Ivanisevic, a winner at Wimbledon, used to meet in the tennis court, there were sparks. Tuesday night, on the Central Court at the BNR Arenas, there were fire works and a delighting match for more than 3.000 spectators. Although Ivanisevic celebrated his 34th birthday on Tuesday, Muster, who was in a very good shape at his age of 38, didn’t make any compromises and defeated the Croatian in two sets, 6-3, 7-5.

At the end, the spectators left delighted, and Muster and Ivanisevic exhausted, but also richer with 30.000 dollars each.

“ Party at Cabaret! Thomas, you really don’t know that today is my birthday?”, Goran pretended to be upset.

But the organizers didn’t forget and they prepared a few surprises for the Croatian, fire works, a “Happy Birthaday” sang by Monica Anghel and, later at night, a party with a birthday cake and champaign at the “Cabaret” club. When they used to play, the two were completely different: Muster – uncommunicative, a fighter by definition, and Ivanisevic – a talented and fickle player. Now they messed with the trick box, the only stake was to satisfy the audience. They succeeded. It was a memorable show, in which the actors did everything from joking around to master strokes. For an hour, Thomas and Goran joked with the ball boys, they charmed the referees, they drank Stella Artois and they flirted with the beautiful ladies in the tribunes
